In the interests of seamless referral lodgement and tracking, Smart Referrals is an essential step for creating a connected modern health system.

Since August 2021, we have received over 15,000 referrals via Smart Referrals from Gold Coast GPs.

Existing referral templates are currently out of date and will be phased out shortly.

In addition, ongoing NBN service interruptions to fax transmissions have resulted in a large number of blank referrals received.

Smart Referrals integrates with your clinical software to auto-fill many of the practice and patient details, and guides the user to the correct pre-requisite tests based on the condition being referred. A dashboard within the system allows GPs to track the receipt and progress of the referral. More information and a short video can be found here .

More than 85 per cent of eligible Gold Coast general practices are now registered for Smart Referrals.
