ED discharge letters are sent by secure electronic transmission to the GP nominated by the patient when they attend ED. From mid-July, ED discharge letters will be available via The Viewer. These Statement of Attendance documents are letters completed for the patient and their primary care team outlining what has happened and any treatment guidance offered.

GPs, specialists, nurses, midwives, paramedics and pharmacists can register for The Viewer via the Health Provider Portal . If you have recently moved practices you will need to ensure that details of your Medicare Provider Number and Healthcare Provider Identifier – Individual (HPI-I) are up-to-date and registered with the Secure Transfer Service (STS) AddressBook via Medical Practice STS update form . This supports your access to The Viewer.

The GP Liaison Unit is available to attend your practice to assist with The Viewer registration process and provide training. Please email GCGPLU@health.qld.gov.au to book a convenient time.
