The Refer Your Patient website provides a central point of access to statewide Clinical Prioritisation Criteria (CPC) and localised aligned guidelines for all referrers (external and internal).

CPC are clinical decision support tools and have been developed by the Clinical Excellence Queensland (CEQ), in conjunction with clinicians across Queensland Hospital and Health Services.

Both referring practitioners and public specialist outpatient services must use CPC when determining how quickly the patient should be seen (urgency category).

It is essential that you refer to CPC guidelines for the clinical condition you are referring for.

Applying referral guidelines has been shown to support patient access to care in the most appropriate place for the care journey.
