Essential Referral Information
- Recent Liver enzymes
- Previous fibroscan information and date if available
- Body mass index (BMI)
- Details of any associated medical conditions which may affect the accuracy of the fibroscan (Obesity/NAFLD/physical limitations)
- Any special care requirements where relevant (able to lie flat and transfer on and off examination bed)
- Must not be pregnant
- Must not have ascites
Additional Referral Information
- Family history of liver disease
- Alcohol and illicit drug history
- Medication history including non-prescription medications, herbs, supplements
- Record of previous liver function tests
- Iron studies/INR
