Essential Referral Information
- List of all current medications (especially any diuretics)
- ELFTs
- Glucose
- Calcium
- Paired urine and plasma sodium and osmolality
If a specific test result cannot be obtained due to access, financial, religious, cultural or consent reasons a clinical override may be requested. This reason must be clearly articulated in the body of the referral.
Additional Referral Information
- 24-hour urine volume if polyuria
- Copeptin level should be considered if available
- If suspected SIADH then perform TFT and morning (08:00 – 09:00) cortisol, ACTH
- If suspected SIADH with no other apparent cause, consider CT head and / or CT chest / abdomen / pelvis
